Between Two LordsOur lordship is situated between the two much more powerful lordships of Vels Bacar and Arganjuzorn. Many wars have been fought over our domain and we have switched allegiance several times, sometimes answering to Sarda and sometimes to the Dolindhans. Thanks to our skilled diplomats we have always convinced our overlords to leave our lordship alone, and we’ve learnt to adapt quickly to whoever we are dealing with.

Adbraseloc BreachersDuring the War of the Bacaran Succession, Adbraseloc joined the war on the side of Arverynn due to our allegiance to Arganjuzorn. Our troops were vital to the sieges of Vels Bacar; our tunnelers caused several collapses of the walls, and the most daring of our knights launched night-time assaults to attempt to open the gate.

GatekeepersThe Adbraseloc gatekeepers are a bureaucratic class tasked with the extraction of tolls from any travellers and merchants who travel through our domain. They can be seen working late into the night, their gas lit lanterns imported directly from Bosancovac announcing their arrival long before they can be heard. Many of the lords of Adbraseloc are poor compared to the rest of the Ynn, and oftentimes the wives of these lords would join the gatekeepers to supplement the income of their holdings.

Hard LessonsOur lands are frequently devastated by the Epednar buycev that border our lordship. In daring cavalry raids they charge into our villages, burn houses, and steal what they can before returning to the steppe where chasing them is a death wish. It is this threat that has oftentimes swayed us to loyalty to Arganjuzorn, as they have much more experience in guarding the Western borders to the Expanse, and have rode out to protect us against raids many times over. Being a subject has its benefits, as we rarely have to worry about our own borders with Vels Bacar and Arganjuzorn, and can instead focus on the Expanse. Over time our knights have learnt to prepare for them and damage can be minimised, and we make it clear to our subjects that should they revolt against our knights, there is no one to protect them any longer.

Ceremonial Canoe RacesMost people avoid sailing the Ynn, considering its waters as a realm of death. Those who do are usually driven by greed, like the Bosancovaco merchants, or by insatiable curiosity, like the Thromshan. However the canoeists of Adbraseloc, who skirt the nexus between the realm of the living and that of the dead aboard their agile vessels, do not do this for any such vulgar reason. They do this as an act of art, racing one another in a showing that will be etched in the minds of their audience for years to come... the ultimate tribute of courage to the Divine Realm of the Ynn.

NiesthorovintynFollowing the hunt for Drozmagog after he had escaped Arverynn in 1028, which came to be known as the the Lovdrakan or dragon hunt, the Ynnic Empire founded a large number of fortified outposts to guard against buycev raids and protect trade routes. Intending to pacify these lands, several fiefs were created that spanned these outposts.\n\nAdbraseloc is the remnant of the largest of these fiefs: referred to as Niesthorovintyn or ‘plains place’, it once spanned the size of several large lordships and we officially hold claim to many of the lands now settled by the Krahnorians.

The VodynnarThe Vodynnar are a group of progressives in the Ynn who have aligned themselves with Cannorian ideals and values following their arrival to the valley. The name comes from the ynnic word for (water) miller, as many of the craftsmen were founders of this ideology. Lord Ultaran the Kind is said by many to be the first Vodynnar, after proclaiming that Vels Bacar should become a republic. From here, these ideas spread to all of the Ynn, and became immensely popular. Scholars, merchants, minorities such as women; integrated buyovec; and Krahnorians, artisans and even some of the more open minded nobility joined this faction, clamouring for reforms across the Ynn and advocating for more Krahnorian values. While the Vodynnar exist all over the Ynn, our proximity to Vels Bacar meant that Adbraseloc is somewhat of a Vodynnar stronghold.
