You're Not You When You're HungryThe story of Golkhon Sheepsay is repeated to Ishyaga’s children. He was a talented Ashhana chef who lived in the jungle as a hermit for most of his life, millennia ago. Distraught with the savagery of his fellow lizardfolk, he set out to clear their minds the only way he knew how: with a meal. Quickly, he went around the jungle, picking up the same ingredients his father and grandfather had always used for the cooking of the most heartwarming food of all: the ancestral pot. As soon as the first scent of spice arose from the cauldron, all of the bloodthirsted Ashhana immediately came back to their senses and stood in line, ready to receive their food. The elders often say "They were purified not through foreign lavishment but through the love of familiarity and closeness."\n\n Though what is fact or fiction in this story is up to scholarly debate. What is clear is that the people of Ishyaga follow in his stead, valuing food as an art form over any other tribe.

Thousand Year StormIshyaga suffers from constant storms and monsoon. The mages of the tribe have long studied these conditions to perfect their control over air and water. This culminated in the creation of the storm callers, who used their power to refresh their troops with a fresh drizzle, and bog down enemy lines with endless deluges and strong winds.

Drifting CrocodilesSouth Sarhal is riddled with lakes and rivers, often expanding during the rainy seasons. Ishyaga’s warriors are trained to fight in these conditions, using their semi-aquatic biology to their advantage. Their prowess was demonstrated in 1421, when Zatsuti invaded Ishyaga on the grounds of ending the Ashhana menace. Coincidentally, a storm of never-before-seen magnitude occurred over Ishyaga, flooding the entire region. Whether it was a blessing of the lizardfolk gods or just plain luck is unknown though what is known is the devastating defeat of Imperial invaders, leading Ishyaga to prosper for many years.
+1 Attrition for Enemies

Delicious In DungeonAdventuring is more than just strength. Planning has a lot to with it, and more expeditions meet their doom from a lack of provision than not. Due to Ishyaga's location between the Imperial lizardfolk and the ancient ruins deep within the Ashhana jungles, it has become a popular supply hub and resting place for adventurers, who are more than willing to join Ishyaga’s cause for a price.

Food PeacesThe taking of Zatsuti lands was not met well by the local inhabitants, who viewed their occupiers as nothing more than bloodthirsty monsters. Ishyaga’s people knew all too well of the rage they felt, so they gave them the solution they had always known, the art of the pot. The Imperials were suspicious at first, but with the land ravaged by war and natural disasters, it was an offer they could not refuse. This was the start of the reconciliation between the two races: to the becoming of a nation where both kinds could exist in harmony once again.

Giving ThanksHalflings were often warned by their usual lizardfolk friends of the dangers that lay deeper inside the jungle, including their "corrupted cousins", but the call for adventure compelled them. The halflings of the Khazyna Estuary were the first to make a journey on the river and into the jungle. Unfortunately for them, a storm destroyed their small ships and blew them onto the banks of Ishyaga. They had no choice but to ask the "crocrodiles" for help.\n\nThe halflings were surprised by how familiar the tribespeople were. One said "You’re like halflings, just inside big bipedal crocodiles." The Ishyaga assisted them in building new boats, giving them plenty of supplies. This tale was the start of a cordial relationship between the Ashhanas and Halflings. Ishyaga itself would become a trade hub, serving as a bridge between halfling and Ashhana traders.

Bridge Between Two RiversAshhanas and Imperial lizardfolk both contributed to the institutions of Ishyaga, which meant that it could negotiate with all lizardfolk nations on a non-discriminatory ground. In fact, Ishyaga would be invited to oversee many diplomatic meetings, being seen as a neutral party which would always make a pragmatic decision. Ishyaga would play a major role in the larger reconciliation of all lizardfolk tribes.
